Dr. (Coach) Cholula earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Concordia University in Irvine, with minors in Exercise and Sports Science and Sociology. He later completed a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from Adams State University and went on to earn a Doctorate in Psychology (2013).

Coach Cholula’s passion for running began in elementary school and grew through competitive participation in middle school in Santa Ana. His dedication earned him a running scholarship to Concordia University, where he distinguished himself as a standout athlete. During his collegiate career, he broke multiple school and stadium records, earned conference championships, and received All-American honors. In recognition of his achievements, he was inducted into the Concordia University Hall of Fame in 2011.

In 2022, Dr. Cholula founded the Lightning Youth Academy, reflecting his commitment to empowering young people through athletics, mental health, mentorship, and community engagement. He is also the Founder and CEO of Cholula Psychological Services, based in Downtown Santa Ana. As a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 32179), Dr. Cholula provides culturally responsive mental health services in both English and Spanish to youth, teens, adults, and couples.

Coach Henry is a dedicated youth running coach and community leader based in Santa Ana. As a co-founder of Lightning Youth Running Club (2011), he has played a key role in building a program that supports youth development through running and teamwork.

A Santa Ana native, Coach Henry attended Willard Intermediate School, where he first began competing in track and cross country. He continued his running career at Santa Ana High School, developing a lifelong passion for the sport that now drives his commitment to coaching young athletes in his community.

Coach Henry originally started running for the enjoyment of the sport and the excitement of competition. His personal experience as a student-athlete shapes his coaching philosophy today—focused on encouragement, discipline, and helping athletes reach their full potential both on and off the course.

Under Coach Henry’s leadership, Lightning Youth Running Club has achieved significant success, including a USATF National Championship title in the 9–10 age division. He is known for his ability to motivate, support, and challenge athletes to perform at their best while fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.

Coach Henry continues to serve as a mentor and role model for youth in Santa Ana and surrounding communities, helping young runners build confidence, resilience, and a love for the sport.

Coach Tino earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Physical Education from California State University, Dominguez Hills. His academic background as a teacher, combined with his athletic experience, supports his approach to coaching youth in both performance and personal growth.

Coach Tino began his running career in 8th grade, quickly establishing himself as a top competitor by winning the All-City mile in Long Beach. He went on to attend Lakewood High School, where he competed on the varsity track and cross country teams all four years. During his high school career, he won the Moore League championship three times, earned All-City honors twice, and served as team captain of the cross country team his senior year.

Coach Tino continued his athletic career at Long Beach City College, where he competed in cross country and was part of the program’s top seven runners. His experiences as a competitive athlete continue to shape his coaching philosophy.

Coach Tino believes that running is a lifelong activity that builds resilience, discipline, and the ability to overcome challenges. He is passionate about helping young athletes apply lessons learned through running to real-life situations, both on and off the course.

Through his work with Lightning Youth Running Club, Coach Tino plays an important role in supporting youth development and strengthening in Los Angeles county. He is the head in Long Beach, Lynwood, and surrounding areas.
